How's it made?
Every piece starts as polymer clay block on my desk.
I sculpt all of the details by hand before the pieces are baked, sanded, assembled, and finished. Depending on the design, there can be a surprising amount of work involved before a piece is ready to wear.
The clips below show a few moments from the making process, but they only capture a small part of what's involved. Most of the time is spent shaping details, refining designs, fixing mistakes, and making sure everything looks exactly as it should.
As with anything handmade, not every idea works first time. Some pieces come together quickly, while others go through several versions before I'm happy with them.
What arrives at your door is the result of many hours spent designing, making, refining, and perfecting each piece. :)
Q&A:
Is polymer clay durable?
Yes. Polymer clay is surprisingly strong and lightweight when properly cured.
Each piece is carefully sculpted and baked according to professional standards to ensure durability for everyday wear. Unlike ceramics, polymer clay won't shatter if accidentally dropped, making it both comfortable and practical as jewellery.
As with any handmade jewellery, treating your pieces with care will help keep them looking beautiful for years to come.
Do you accept custom orders?
I love creating unique pieces. If you're interested in a custom design, please get in touch to discuss your ideas.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, I ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery estimates are calculated at checkout based on your location.
How long does international shipping take?
International delivery times can vary depending on your country's postal service and customs processing.
While many orders arrive within a week or two of being dispatched, international shipping can occasionally take longer. In rare cases, delivery may take up to 2 months. Although this isn't common, it can happen and doesn't necessarily mean your parcel has been lost.
For peace of mind, all international orders are sent with tracked shipping. This allows you to follow your parcel's journey and helps us locate it should any delays occur along the way.
If you're concerned about your order at any point, please don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll be happy to help. 💌
Is polymer clay jewellery heavy?
Not at all. One of the biggest advantages of polymer clay is how lightweight it is. Even larger statement pieces remain comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Can polymer clay get wet?
Occasional contact with water is fine, but to keep your jewellery looking its best, it's recommended to remove it before swimming, showering, or prolonged exposure to water.
Can I wear my jewellery every day?
Absolutely. Each piece is designed to be enjoyed and worn regularly. With proper care, your jewellery can remain a treasured part of your collection for years.
How do I care for my jewellery?
To keep your jewellery looking its best, avoid prolonged contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals. Store it in a cool, dry place when not being worn.
Is this handmade or handmade-assembled?
Every bead is individually sculpted by hand before being transformed into the final piece. You're not purchasing pre-made components - you're wearing original handcrafted artwork.
What is your processing time?
As each piece is handmade to order, processing time is up to 4 weeks before dispatch. This allows me to carefully sculpt, create, and finish every piece to the highest standard.
Why does handmade jewellery take longer?
Each piece is created from scratch by hand. The sculpting, curing, finishing, and assembly process takes time, ensuring every item receives the care and attention it deserves.
I'm also a one-woman business and a new mum 🩵, balancing precious family time alongside creating your jewellery. Thank you for supporting handmade and for your patience while I carefully craft your order.
Can I cancel or change my order?
If you need to make changes to your order, please contact me as soon as possible. Once production has begun, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
Why do customers love polymer clay jewellery?
Polymer clay allows for intricate sculptural details while remaining incredibly lightweight. You get the look of a statement piece without the discomfort of heavy jewellery.
